Physical Therapist

Physical therapists (also known as PTs) are movement experts who optimize quality of life. They accomplish this through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education. Physical therapists evaluate and treat disorders of the human body primarily by physical means.

Whether the condition results from an injury or disease, they focus primarily on those individuals who have disturbed function or impairment related to musculoskeletal, neurological, or cardiopulmonary. PTs evaluate the functioning of these systems within the body, and apply the appropriate treatment to alleviate pain and improve physical function. These services are in great need by people of all ages and backgrounds.

Physical therapists teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition, so that they will achieve long-term health benefits. PTs examine each individual and develop a plan, using treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function, and prevent disability. They even use hot and cold rotation therapies to compliment the exercises.

In addition, PTs work with individuals to prevent the loss of mobility before it occurs simply by developing fitness and wellness oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles. Physical therapy is a completely natural approach to pain management and recovery.

Now, most individuals do not realize the many benefits that it can provide them and help their body reach its finest peak. For example, fibromyalgia individuals can benefit from the flexibility it can provide, even though technically it’s a rheumatology disease and not neurological. This is exactly why PTs need to make a real impact!
